Dr. Frank Luo is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist and dermatopathologist. Prior to joining Dianon Systems/LabCorp in the Spring of 2005, Dr. Luo held a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor and dermatopathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center where he worked with Dr. Scott Binder, a nationally renowned dermatopathologist. Currently, Dr. Luo continues to hold an academic position as an Assistant Professor at the UCLA Medical Center and also at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), actively participating in the residency training programs at both institutions. Dr. Luo graduated from Shanghai Military Medical University in 1985 with top honors for his academic achievements. He completed a residency in Pathology (both anatomic and clinical pathology) at USC and a fellowship in Dermatopathology at UCLA. Dr. Luo was the winner of the National Pathology Residency Training Award sponsored by the Arthur Purdy Stout American Society of Surgical Pathologists in 2000. He was also the winner of the Best Research Paper Award at the 7th AFIP/ARP Pathology Resident Symposium in 2000. Upon completing residency and fellowship training, Dr. Luo has been practicing as a surgical pathologist and dermatopathologist for the last four years.
